Howie Jacobsen
Director, Indirect Taxes
Howie Jacobsen is a state and local tax professional with over 30 years of experience in indirect taxes. Previous to joining Pivotal, Mr. Jacobsen served as Director – Indirect Taxes for GoDaddy. During his tenure he was responsible for all domestic and international filings of indirect taxes and due diligence for all mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining GoDaddy, Howie served as Director – Indirect Taxes for Insight Enterprises, where he was responsible for all domestic and international indirect tax filings, as well as procuring multiple indirect tax sharing agreements that generated over $3 million in funds for Insight. Mr. Jacobsen has also worked as a State and Local Tax Manager for Ping, handling all aspects of indirect taxes for the privately held company. He held the same role at KPMG, serving as a lead consultant for national clients, solving complex indirect tax issues that resulted in significant tax savings through refunds, reductions of audit assessments and strategic tax planning.
A graduate of Minnesota State University, Mr. Jacobsen holds a degree in Finance, and a Post Graduate degree from Arizona State University in Accounting. He is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
