Oklahoma Apartments
A national apartment group approached Pivotal when they were facing a large increase in assessed value on an apartment community located in Oklahoma City. The local assessor’s office had increased the property tax value due to some new construction within the community. Pivotal reviewed the property’s assessment and found that it was significantly overvalued. The assessor had prematurely increased the property tax value believing that the new construction was complete. However, through the appeal process, Pivotal was able to show the assessor that the construction was ongoing, and the community suffered from high vacancy.
This resulted in a major reduction in value ultimately saving the owner over $350,000 in taxes.
