Chris E. Glidewell

Chris Glidewell is a state and local tax professional with extensive experience in sales, use, occupancy, and property taxes.  Mr. Glidewell also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions.  As the former Director of State and Local Taxes for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, he was responsible for transitioning all state and local tax matters relating to the $14 billion acquisition of ITT/Sheraton, the $2.5 billion merger of Westin Hotel Company, and the $3 billion disposal of Caesars World gaming operations.

Prior to joining Starwood, Chris Glidewell was a Senior Manager with KPMG where he served as a Member of the National Property Tax Steering Committee and was in charge of technology, new services, and products. Additionally, Mr. Glidewell was directly responsible for the Arizona, Utah and Nevada practices. Prior to KPMG, Mr. Glidewell was the West Area Practice Leader for property tax at Ernst & Young, LLP and worked for the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office as a Deputy Assessor.  
Chris continues to develop on-going relationships with an impressive roster of clients and associates. Mr. Glidewell is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).
