Arizona Auto Dealership
The owners of an auto dealership in Arizona built a parking structure next to the dealership due to a lack of parking. Upon completion of the parking structure the County Assessor increased the parcel’s value from approximately $3,700,000 to over $24,000,000 to account for the new improvements. Pivotal appealed the valuation recognizing that the County was incorrectly calculating the total cost of the project. Pivotal successfully argued the appeal and eventually had the County concur with Pivotal’s position.
The appeal resulted in a 46% reduction in value and tax savings of $492,362.
