Oklahoma Auto Dealership

The Owner purchased a Toyota dealership in Oklahoma for significantly more than the previous year’s tax assessment value. The County Assessor enrolled the purchase price as the new taxable value resulting in an increase of over 100% in taxable value. Pivotal, recognizing that by local statute and law that the property tax valuation lien date was January 1, effectively argued that the County prematurely enrolled the purchase price. Through numerous conversations with multiple county departments Pivotal was able successfully have the taxable value reduced back to the prior year value, saving the owner $71,465 in taxes.
